Open Position: Director of Conferences and Signature Events 

Reports to SVP, Brand and Operations 

3-5 years relevant event management experience; experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or membership-based organizations strongly preferred. 

The Director of Conferences and Signature Events leads the logistical planning, coordination, and execution of the Council’s Signature Events and conferences, ensuring every engagement is delivered with precision, a hospitality-first mindset, and exceptional attention to detail. This role is accountable for translating event strategy into flawless execution—overseeing timelines, vendors, budgets, and on-site logistics to ensure each convening reflects the Council’s standard of excellence.

This position will drive end-to-end logistical execution for Signature Events and is critical to the Council’s growth, ensuring that, service, and execution consistently exceed expectations and create high-quality environments for meaningful engagement among healthcare leaders.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the internal project lead for the annual Nashville Healthcare Sessions conference, overseeing planning, production, budget, vendor management and delivery to achieve key goals. 
  • Manage logistics and internal coordination for Council Signature Events, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality, executive-level member experience. 
  • Oversee end-to-end planning and execution of all Council-produced Signature Events and conferences, ensuring operational excellence, on-time delivery, and exceptional member experiences. 
  • Direct logistics for all Council Signature Engagements, including vendor coordination, production schedules, staffing, run-of-show development, and onsite execution. 
  • Serve as the logistical point of contact for internal and external partners to ensure seamless communication, alignment, and execution of engagement goals. 
  • Develop and manage event production timelines and detailed project plans in Align (or equivalent platform), maintaining real-time visibility into progress and deadlines. 
  • Coordinate internal cross-functional readiness, ensuring Communications, Membership, and Leadership teams are aligned and prepared for each engagement as necessary. 

Team Leadership and Financial Management 

  • Manage the Conference and Signature Event  budget, monitoring expenditures, and recommending resource allocations to align with organizational priorities. 
  • Support a high-performing team culture through clear communication and accountability. 
  • Maintain and oversee budget management for all Council-produced Signature Events, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and post-event reconciliation. 

Cross-Functional and Strategic Support 

  • Act as an ambassador for the Council, building and maintaining relationships with members, partners, and stakeholders. 
  • Manage assigned strategic partnerships to strengthen the organization’s community presence and impact. 
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance enterprise-wide programs and processes. 

Qualifications and Keys to Success 

  • 3-5 years relevant event management experience; experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or membership-based organizations strongly preferred. 
  • Exceptional project management and organizational capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple complex priorities, timelines, and stakeholders without sacrificing quality or experience. 
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring seamless coordination and disciplined delivery.
